Celebrations are taking place all over the country throughout the entire year, providing opportunities for everyone to celebrate and enjoy Canada. From foodies to adventurous athletes, beach lovers, and city goers, Canada has something for everyone. Radisson makes it easy to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary with hotels across the country! Here are just a few ideas to help you enjoy your Canada 150th Anniversary trip
Food
Poutine is all the rave in Canada these days. I have friends in NYC who have traveled to Canada just for the poutine. If this is on your bucket list you can stay at the Radisson Hotel Laval Montreal by booking here.
Drinks
From Banff to Mont Tremblant, if you’re skiing or enjoying other winter sports, you’ll need to take time to enjoy some hot chocolate.
Lakes
Canada is home to some of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Banff is near the top of my bucket list!
Beaches
This beach located in Toronto is a lovely place to spend a summer day. You can reach it by ferry from Toronto. If staying in Montreal, you should check out the Radisson Admiral Hotel Toronto – Harbourtown.
Waterfalls
Niagra Fall is the most famous waterfall in Canada. I visited as a child with my mother and father on the Canadian side.
If Niagra Falls is on your bucket list, you can stay at the Radisson Hotel & Suites Fallsview Hotel by booking here.
History
Despite being 150 years young, Canada has a rich history that can be explored in all of its major cities. Beautiful government buildings are located in these cities.
National Parks
Canada is home to some of the world’s most beautiful parks. Banff National Park, Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and Waterton National Park are the top 3 national parks I would love to visit in Canada.
Skiing
One of my 2017/2018 winter goals is to learn to ski. I’ve heard there’s nowhere better than the beautiful slopes of Canada!
Architecture
The Canadian cities are full of beautiful architecture. I’ve heard they’re a delight to wander around an explore.
Skylines
This is the beautiful view of the Toronto skyline from the ferry to the local beaches. If staying in Toronto, please consider the Radisson Admiral Hotel Toronto – Harbourtown.

Super complete and lots of inspiring ideas. But what’s Poutine? And what a great giveaway!

I love that you included ‘history’ on the list. A handful of my Canadian friends are making sure to mix in “we meed to make sure we learned from this tragedy/marginalization/etc” into their social shares about the anniversary. Keeping some focus on history is super important. And poutine the BEST!
Eliza Smith says
Happy 150th! I’ve been “poutine” up with friends boasting about poutine for years without ever managing to go to Canada and try it. It’s on my bucket list!
Jessica Bradshaw says
LOVE this! I really need to get up to Canada and explore. There is so much to see and do.
Patricia says
I’ll admit that I really would consider going all the way up to Canada just for the poutine. That looks amazing!! I’d love to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary! I used to go up there more often when I was growing up in Ohio, and I’ve been very lax about going back while I’ve been living on the west coast. Clearly, this year would be the time to go!

Canada is really a lovely place and these are all lovely suggestions. Banff is always one place that I have found really endearing apart from the Niagara falls of course. Hope to get there some day.

These are all reasons why I love Canada and plus many more! I tried Poutine only once in Vancouver but would love to visit Montreal and try it there. Banff is also at the top of my bucket list.

Canada is a dream. I really wish I could go there this year as national parks are free and the 150th anniversary. Canada looks so beautiful and huge. I would definitely check out the waterfalls and nature. I have to try the poutine XD

The beautiful outdoors in Canada really is a must see! Ever since I went to Lake Arrowhead in California, I’ve been itching to explore other lakes. Lake Tahoe and Banff have been on my bucket list for a while now.
What is in that poutine? It looks like chicken, french fries, and a bunch of other goodness that I want to try!

If I were in Canada for the Anniversary I would definitely celebrate it in the city, and after the party goes down I’d go to the waterfalls and national parks 🙂
And I love Radissons all over the world!

Canada is on my bucket list!! I remember my father wanted to migrate there before coming out to Australia (didn’t end up doing it – obviously – only cos Canada stopped taking migrates at that particular time). Its such a beautiful country. And your photos are just gorgeous!!

Ive been dying to go to Toronto since I was a kid. Gotta get there soon!!

Canada is definitely one of the gorgeous countries in the world and is high on my bucket list. It has so many great things to offer – be it the mountains, waterfalls, hikes or the food. I especially want to visit Banff & also check out the Rockies Mountains.

I’ve done all of these except skiing and that’s mostly because I am not that coordinated! I LOVED poutine. I got it multiple times when I was in Montreal! Our Couchsurfing host was saying he didn’t understand why everyone loved it, it was their garbage drunk food, but in my opinion, their garbage was AMAZING! HA!
Danielle Desir says
Love that poutin is the first thing on the list. I just tried poutine for the first time in Montreal and I’m sold on just how good it is!
Kathi says
Gonna have to make up for missing Canada Day while in France – I’m not Canadian, but I LOVE Canada! Actually, a Tim Horton’s just opened in my hometown – the first in the UK – so maybe I just go there for a coffee!

Canada has been on my travel bucketlist for a while now, and reading this makes me want to go there even more! Happy 150 years! x

Posts like these make me wish I was able to celebrate Canada’s 150th. You are right, Canada is home to some of the prettiest lakes I’ve ever seen, not to mention the waterfalls…omg!

What a great giveaway, I’d love to visit Canada. Could you tell me what poutine is, I’ve heard of it but don’t know what it is made of. Never realized there were such lovely beaches in Toronto, it looks fantastic.

I now seriously have an urge to visit Canada!! I’ve been to various cities and really fell in love with Montreal and Quebec but I think there are many parts of Canada that I have yet to explore and would love to visit again.

I am always amazed by how much nature there is in Canada. It’s a great country. I went on several family vacations there as a child. I really should go back as an adult and explore more.

I would like to visit Canada one day. Such a beautiful country! Thank you for the advises: I wish one day I can follow them. And Happy Birthday to Canada!
