This time of year is always stressful, and the number one thing we all must do is take care of ourselves. I personally like to start the weekend off with a blowout. I use LookBooker to book an appointment at a convenient salon, and let my stylists work their magic. Unfortunately I do not have the time or the funds to get daily blow outs, nor would that be any good for my locks. So I’m going to share a few secrets to keep that blowout looking fresh throughout the weekend for all of my holiday parties!
The Wash
Mariano at BDry Blow Bar gave me some great tips for prepping my hair for the blow out. He recommends a good shampoo to really clean the hair and scalp, but only using conditioner on the tips so as to not weigh down the hair. Keep this in mind whether you are at the salon or doing your own blowouts.
Products
Don’t use any. To keep your hair fresh and preserve the blow out for an extended period of time, don’t use any product. This will make your hair greasy and the look won’t last as long. If you need fabulous hair for one night only, go ahead and use whatever products you want to achieve perfection. Just know your hair will likely need a wash in the morning.
Ear Muffs
You can not put a hat on your beautifully blown out locks. Invest in a pair of ear muffs to keep you warm and show off your great look.
Silk Cap
Mariano gave me a few suggestions for keeping the blow out looking good while you sleep. He suggested twirling and pinning the hair to hold the volume and shape. Another great option is to sleep with a silk cap on!
Dry Shampoo
And when you make up, throw in a little dry shampoo. I usually wait until after the second sleep to add in dry shampoo. A few friends with darker hair suggest using dry shampoo before bed if you don’t have one designed specifically for your hair color!
Bonus Blowout Tips:
1. I chose to get my blowout on the day of a holiday party, but I also took some time off work that day to get my passport photos and new drivers license. Those pictures are with you for 10+ years! Make the most of your blowouts, and schedule wisely with LookBooker.
2. And most importantly: Wear your blowout with a smile! Show off those lovely locks and enjoy the holiday season! Tell me in the comments how you like to pamper yourself around the holidays.
Happy Holidays to All!
I collaborated with LookBooker to bring this post to you. Thank you to BDry Bar TriBeCa for my fabulous holiday blowout!

Don’t use any products?? Mind blown. I have heard of sleeping on a silk pillowcase but wearing a silk cap is a new one. You have beautiful hair though so I might have to skip all my products next shower:)

Your hair is gorgeous! You clearly take great care of it! I’m a big fan of dry shampoo, but my hair still doesn’t look that pretty!

Your hair looks great! I absolutely love the curls! I love the point your stylist made about pinning your curls. My curls tend to always go flat, so the only way I can keep them is if I pin curl them.

Your blow out is gorgeous. The hair is bouncy and has a great shine. Love the tip about only putting conditioner on the ends. I would have just done the usual and applied it all over 🙂

I have only recently learned to appreciate the beauty of earmuffs and how it keeps my hair nice! It’s cold and while I want a hat, I can’t stand how it shapes my hair differently than when I originally styled it haha!

It must be hard to keep your blowout when it’s winter and snowing over there in the US. Here in Australia it is the opposite, humid and sticky but equally as hard to do. Thanks for the tips! I’ll be sure to keep this in mind next time I get one 🙂

What gorgeous hair you have! I can’t get away with not washing mine day to day as I have very fine short hair, but that makes it easy to wash and style, so I guess I benefit! I do love dressing up for the holiday season and hair is definitely part of the look.

I need to get some earmuffs! Now that it’s cold out, my hair is a frizzy mess. Thanks for the tips — I love anything that lets me schedule an appointment online.

I looooooove a good blow out but I hate having to sit through one! Winter is a pain though because my head gets cold easily so I’m anyways in a hat which ruins a good blow out ):

Fantastic tips, thanks for this! Now off to invest in a pair of ear muffs – hadn’t thought of that before!

I love your hair color! I’ve never had a blowout, but perhaps I’ll get one sometime! I usually splurge on the ‘Lather Lounge’ at my salon where they massage your scalp, neck and shoulders for about 30 minutes. It’s the best! Cheers!
