Fall is quickly approaching. Maybe a little too quickly for those of you living in upstate New York which dipped into the 40’s on the first of September. While I don’t love freezing temperatures, I do love jacket weather and fall fashion. I’ve gathered three of my favorite new jackets for Fall to share with you! These tree unique pieces are the perfect jackets for fall that every woman needs to add to her wardrobe.
The Cape
This Black Military Cape from See by Chloe got a lot of use on my recent weekend getaway. I wore this piece on the bus ride up to stay warm, on the boat ride around Cayuga Lake, and out for dinner at night. It kept me warm and cozy on the coldest nights. My only complaint about the cape is that I found it challenging to carry a shoulder bag, so keep that in mind! If you look carefully, you’ll notice the lace moto jacket in the photo below being worn underneath the cape for extra warmth out on the lake.
The Lace Moto Jacket
If you know me, you know I’m not quite an edgy cool motorcycle chick. This lace moto jacket from Cut 25 was the perfect balance of trendy and classic combined. I wore this jacket around town during the day while we were exploring gorges and restaurants in Ithaca. The photos below from Cascadilla Gorgeshow the detail of the lace jacket as well as the sleek fit of the jacket.
The Cozy Sweater
This blanket sweater by Derek Lam was another life saver when it came to keeping warm on rainy and cold days upstate. As the name suggests, it is warm and cozy! It was also the perfect compliment for white jeans on the unofficial last weekend of summer. They will also pair nicely with gray and blue jeans heading into the colder months!

I love a great jacket for fall and these 3 trends are pretty much staple. I love the cape jackets and actually don’t currently own one yet. Will be my next purchase for fall.

It’s already in the 40s in upper NY? Crazy!! Totally in love with that cape. I’ve always wanted a cape but I barely wear winter clothes because of the heat in Florida. Maybe on my next vacation to somewhere with cold weather!

This is so cute! I think the last one is something I’d wear very often. I have a grey, long cardigan version of it and it’s one of my favorites! x

I am in love with the lace moto jacket… looks very simple but comfy. I would wear it everywhere if I could 🙂

I’m in love with the cape. It looks so beautiful and elegant. But as I need to carry a shoulder bag so I have my hands free for my girls, it probably wouldn’t be practical. Which is such a shame as it looks amazing on you.
