The Crane Resort in Barbados has no shortage of pools. There’s one for everyone, young and old. While I was initially drawn to Barbados and more specifically the Crane by its gorgeous pink sand beach, it was the hotel pools that sold me on the trip. The crane has five public pools on its property and 70% of its guest rooms have private pools in the gardens or on the balconies. While it was a complete splurge for me, I booked a room with a balcony plunge pool for one night during my stay in Barbados.
The Public Pools
My favorite of the Crane public pools was the alfresco jacuzzi spa (but not heated) pool off the Carriage House restaurant and overlooking the ocean from its clifftop location. Not only was it fabulous in design with an amazing water view, it also seemed to be unknown, and therefore empty almost every time I visited this classic gem. In an open roof building, with open windows overlooking the sea, the pool takes you back in time. The stone walls remind you of an ancient Roman bath house more than a luxury resort.
The main lagoon style pool, available to all hotel guests and residents is made up of several smaller combined pools with many unique features and depths. You’ll find waterfalls, an infinity ledge, fountains, and wading areas for children.
There’s also a small pool located near the alfresco spa jacuzzi pool and the Carriage House restaurant. I didn’t have a chance to use this pool, and I didn’t see another soul touch it the entire time I was there. With so many pool options, if you time it right, you might find yourself in a peaceful pool all on your own.
Adults Only Pool
The most famous of the Crane pools is the iconic historical cliffside pool overlooking world famous Crane Beach. The Doric columns provide a peaceful historic element to those who swim and lounge by this fabulous pool. But be sure not to miss the absolutely stunning view from this pool. It is one of the most magical spots in the resort. This pool is also adults only, keeping it quiet and peaceful throughout the day. The perfect escape, when you tire of the lovely pink sand beaches.
Private Pools
And if you truly just want to get away from it all and can’t fathom the idea of sharing a pool with your fellow hotel guests, the Crane is the perfect place to stay, because 70% of the hotel rooms there have private pools. There are a variety of options for private pools at the Crane. You can have pools in the garden or on a balcony. They range in size from 12-28 feet, or the more unique corner tower plunge pools, which is exactly the option I chose.
The plunge pool offered stunning views of the ocean and resort, as well as the perfect place to unwind and relax after a long day at the beach. It’s even lit at night, perfect for a late night dip.
When I booked this trip originally, my travel companion asked why I cared about the pools. He said the beach was enough for him. But hopefully after seeing these photos, you understand. These pools are unique and absolutely magnificent. The perfect touch to a luxury vacation. If you’re a pool fiend like myself, you should definitely consider the Crane Resort for an upcoming vacation.
This is not a sponsored post. I paid for my stay at The Crane Resort in full. While it is a beautiful luxury resort, please check with them regarding construction prior to booking. I had no hot water or electricity for an entire day of my stay. More on that in my upcoming hotel review.

How about all those pools! You made me want to leave my desk and dive right in to every single one of those! That’s really cool that there are private pools too! This place looks absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing.

I love the plunge pool but those private pools are far from private! What’s the point in having a private pool that anyone in the rooms above can see you in?

oh those are some breath-taking pools! True when you have the beach, why need the pool? BUT sea isn’t always accommodating thanks to the weather and the sand gets all in you.
But wow, 5 pools + 70% private pool rooms? That’s impressive.

I have never seen so many pools! A private pool per room sounds like heaven. I have to ask – with so many pools, did you even make it to the beach? I’m not sure I would have!

The plunge pool looks so inviting. Now I wanna go and take a dip. Ofcourse the ocean view lounge area after a nice dip is mandatory lol. It looks great and looks you had a nice time.

I always check the pool options before I book any hotel. I just indulges in my own private plunge pool room in Bali. I think I have been spooky for life now and may have to continue the trend!

Who knew one property could hold so many amazing pools! Definitely want to visit here now – my favorite is the cliffside pool overlooking Crane Beach 🙂

So SO Many pools. I’ve never seen a place with that many pools but it looks awesome! I’d love to go there. Thanks for sharing.

Those are fantastic pools! Even when I spend all day at the beach, I like to finish my day at one of the pools. Being without hot water is not a bag thing in the Caribbean, but no electricity for a full day is really rough!

Can’t believe how many pools! Personally I’m looking forward to the open roof building, with open windows. I stayed at an Airbnb during my last visit, but maybe I should reconsider for next time.

I loved this post! I preferred swimming in the ocean after living in Okinawa for so long, but I also enjoyed seeing all the awesome pools, especially the waterfall over the blue lagoon pool! 😀 How lucky that there are also private pools! I want to stay here too!

STTTTTAAAWP IT. You’re making me jealous, and I want to go to all of these pools. Some of the photos aren’t loading though – Am I the only one having these problems? I want to see the rest of them!
